Can anyone recommend a CMS program that comes with templates already designed and ready for use by writers? We are trying to put our company magazine online and don't have much staffing to support from the IT and web design end.

Wordpress...there are some great templates you can use designed for publications at http://www.solostream.com/ as well...
Hello Jennifer,

I can understand that its very laborious to design content online when resources are scant. I had started a similar conversation on CMS and the link below will take you to a very detailed explanation of this need you have now.

However, i would like to query you further on your exact requirement. You could outsource this to freelancers if you can. There are lot of them out there who specialize in some of famous the CMS (this is for web design and development support). Even though its difficult it would be advisable to find a resource who can telecommute.

Hope this helps. But then if you do want more help with your designs or any other support do let me know.

Why not?
I was just looking up magazine CMS packages yesterday. These are the two I found and one that I've used:
KrangCMS I just downloaded it yesterday and have yet to play with it, but it says it's used specifically for online magazines.
PixieCMS is another much simpler CMS that makes creating pages and posting quite easy.
The one I've used is at www.hallowellrecord.com - It's called JA Teline II by the guys at Joomlart.com. It uses Joomla 1.5 as the CMS and if you purchase a subscription you can download the template along with Joomla! as a single package to be installed on your server. There are many other templates at that site and I would certainly check it out.

Good luck!

Drupal. Wordpress does not host multiple blogs on one site. Drupal does.

This website (CIO Pakistan) is powered by it.
I like Wordpress and use it for an association blog I have. It's good if your ambitions are not terribly great and, as you say, you don't have any IT support.
Folks

Not going to say it again: Vendors should not be getting into back and forth battles here. Thread closed.
