Does anyone know of tradeshows or expos for independent/small press publishing in the USA?

Tenisha,
There are several regional publishing organizations with many independent members/smaller publishers. I believe their trade shows are scheduled for later this year; here are three for starters:
MMPA.net
FloridaMagazine.org
WPA-Online.org

There are others, and I'd also recommend the workshop Matt mentions.

Tenisha, in June the PBAA (Periodcial Book Association of America) is running a joint Retailer Marketplace with the MPA (Magazine Publishers of America) in Boston ... a good opportunity to meet with key niche wholesalers, distributors, book chains (including Barnes & Noble, Borders, Books A Million and Hastings), national mass market accounts (probably step 2 in distribution), as well as other small and large publishers to get the low down on what works and what doesn't ... either go to the PBAA website (www.pbaa.net) or contact Lisa Scott at PBAA or Jose Cancio for more info ... lscott@pbaa.net or jcancio@pbaa.net.
