We are looking into software that automatically creates a page-by-page. Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with the programs that are out there? Thanks!
Folio does have some White Paper articles that might help. There is a link at the top of this page for 'White Papers' under the FOLIO Mag menu. These can show some solutions that other people have used. On the second page is one for a publication mapping system by EFI which is a company that I work for. There are also some others.

I've worked in magazine production for over 17 years and my experience has been that unless you have a lot (50+ titles), these sorts of systems are very expensive and difficult to integrate into existing IT infrastructure.
My experience has been that they are difficult to run, the amount of 'information input' required to get something close to a workable dummy negates time|cost savings you're told you can realise.
Unless you're starting a new and complete system from scratch, I'd probably save your money and time and have someone plan your magazine manually.
