For Folio, I have written about Enterprise Publishing as the optimal goal of technology: to connect all of the software used in your company in order that you have seamless integration, including between products offered by different software vendors. Even integration with companies outside your own.
By seamless integration I mean data that passes back and forth between applications with minimal manual effort. Data that dynamically integrates in real time, so that a new ad entered in an ad system becomes automatically recognized with safeguards by a mapping application, conceivably with the mapping software recognizing placement designations by the advertiser from his original electronic insertion order.
(I know I am getting ahead of events in some of the above.)..
BUT THE QUESTION TO PUBLISHERS IS, ARE ANY OF YOU ALREADY COMING CLOSE TO THIS? (No response from vendors of course.)
IF YOu are an enterprise publisher, PLEASE AMPLIFY ON YOUR ANSWERS AS TO HOW CLOSE YOU ARE, WHAT SOFTWARE YOU ARE USING AND EVEN EXAMPLES OF HOW IT WORKS AND WHAT EFFORTS WERE REQUIRED TO GET WHERE YOU ARE.TODAY, PLUS WHAT YOU DOING TO "CLOSE THE LOOP".
