As we're all looking to cut our direct mail costs (assuming some of us will still be doing direct mail in 2009), I'm looking for ideas. Before we started using the vouchers in the late 90s, we had a bit of success with double postcards - and they were cheap! Has anyone tested a double-postcard lately, and what were the results? Bear in mind, my company is a rarity in the b-to-b marketplace -100% paid - so not sure if this is worth our while, but want to hear from other experiences.

John, We never gave up on the double-postcard and have been mailing it for years. We are a consumer publisher, so I can't say how it will work in a b-to-b marketplace. I can only say it has continued to work for us on the consumer side.

A product that utilizes the double postcard was released to the public today called postcard+. This product was a little bit of a secret for the past decade where only a few magazines used it to boost their subscription rates. Visit http://www.postcardplus.net for more information. If you don't like the info, at least the dog pictures will keep you entertained.
Enjoy!
