depends on what plays out with things like net-neutrality and Comcast's recent attempts to "charge by amount of data"...if it all of a sudden starts costing consumers more to watch web-based video, they will be much more selective about where they spend their time watching vids online...

Quality is all over the map, but people will pay for good content...as much as I avoid most current implementations of it, DRM isn't going anywhere + network traffic cops are most likely in our future too...could actually be a boom for content makers if it ever gets sorted...

I don't think quality has changed much... What HAS definitely changed is the quantity. With so much content, it can take longer to find the good stuff. The problem, though, is this causes people to think that either the quality has gone down or the technology is failing. Instead, we all just have to look harder.

video content publishing isn't going anywhere without advertisers.

For the folks in the consumer space, not a problem, but in the b2b world, I think it is a much greater challenge. Our site has started to ramp up in the video world - highly visual market (aerospace & defense), but few marketers, even the larger ones, have pre roll creative, or the resources to develop.

Eyeballs yes, but "we're" supposed to be able to go out and sell "pre-rolls" - and I am exaggerating - which is hard if no one has the creative on hand.

If you are looking at the b2b world, I would explore how you can assist marketers in creating videos & video advertising. I believe on the b2c network video side, there are some platforms doing this small scale and campy.
