Do people think that the current tougher economic times (and half the industry up for sale, at least in the B2B world) mean that international licensing and other expansion activities will be less or more important?
I don’t think you should, can stop and go in becoming a successful international company, dependent on whether there are 'good times' (winds) or not so good times. Either it is one (important) way you choose for your publishing house to grow profitable. If you do international licensing and cross-border publishing, because you have no better plans maybe you should go golfing or sailing until you have. Whether internationalization is good for you depends on the value of your products and services for your potential clients, your staff, your cultural and people skills and your commitment …
Good points, Hugo. If you feel that companies with the right products should be continuing their international push, which markets do you think are going to be top priorities?
