I was interviewed on CNBC last week . The link is below. Traffic on our website spiked 700%! Yikes, I don't think that would have come from an interview in Time. http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1224762824&play=1

fter much thought my own view is to start charging for our own on-line content. Media businesses have been making their content available online for free since the inception of the internet, and time has proven this to be a crapulent model. Most of us need to start charging and make our content pay for itself. If we cannot do this then we deserve to fail. What we should not do is allow parasitic media to feed off our content for a fraction of the cost that it takes to develop.

PPM Announced for Multi-Media Expansion
DECISIVE Multi-Media launches platform to serve in-market consumers in growing multi-cultural markets
After 15 years of success without any capitalization, On Wheels Media is expanding its expertise to other industries. It will become the only multi-media company serving in-market consumers in the growing multi-cultural markets.
After 8 Months of development, Decisive is ready to launch with very little start-up dollars.

DECISVE media has been under development for 6 months and start-up related expenses have been completed. Investor equity will go to marketing, new site and expansion of sales force. All marketing materials, research, contacts lists and relationships are complete.
BECOME A PART OF HISTORY: On Wheels Media launched African Americans On Wheels in July 1995, becoming the first automotive magazine (of any kind) to launch a website and the first consumer automotive media in the multicultural market to provide original content on vehicle test drives and product evaluations. It was profitable from year one to year five, when it re-invested its revenue to launch of Latinos On Wheels and Asians On Wheels. Its annual awards show, which launched in 1996 was 100% profitable, until it went upscale in preparation for national TV broadcast. The companies star-studded annual Urban Wheel Awards is now in its14th year (www.UrbanWheelAwards.com; MySpace and Facebook).

• INNOVATORS IN THE MARKET. Pioneering initiatives at On Wheels Media includes: Becoming the Nation’s only newspaper-delivered magazine to secure national audits ( ABC and BPA audits); Opening the door to luxury vehicle advertisements in minority media; Starting the 1st External Diversity Council in the auto industry; Becoming the 1st minority media to receive ads from many auto companies; Launching the 1st web site by any auto magazine; Becoming the Nations only multicultural event sponsored by every major auto company; Becoming the first minority event as official partner of the North American and New York International Auto Shows; Becoming the 1st minority magazine to publish digitally; Becoming the 1st event in the U.S. to publish a digital edition of its Magnum Opus award winning souvenir program book.

•PROVIDERS OF ORIGINAL CONTENT: DECISIVE, the Best Source for Cultural and Consumer News, will be the 1st multicultural “Consumer Reports” and will introduce the latest in digital publishing technology. DECISIVE will open the door to a vast amount of advertisers wanting to reach in-market (in the purchasing process) consumers with their products and services.

August of 2009, DECISIVE and On Wheels’ will be launched as double cover magazines (750,000 circulation for Decisive and 400 circulation for Decisive Latino) with the current auto titles on one side and DECISIVE consumer titles on the other side. Editorial content will include how-to, tips, and product comparisons. DECISIVE will expand on the independent panel of experts who vote on its award recipients and will recruit teams of minority experts from the various industries who will provide advice, opinions, blogs, interviews, and columns to help consumers make decisions.

The redesigned web site will serve as a consumer news hub and provide daily content to major multicultural social networking, news sites, and search engines, as well as to our network of 800 minority newspapers.

On Wheels Media, became the authority on minorities in the auto industry. By broadening the consumer topics, Decisive multi-media will provide more culturally relevant product news, decision-making information and e-commerce. These include personal care and household products, technology and electronics, travel and entertainment, business and finance, Green and fuel efficient vehicles, along with health and fitness.

Just returned from Digital Streaming East in NYC. My review of the show as a knowledge exchange event is fair to unimpressed. Two panels were missing moderators and what this company calls a "Keynote" was more like two company owners getting to talk about about thier products.

Still there was some great exchanges and overall i am certain as ever about the successful future of online media companies. Did anyone in this community attend this event? If so, what was your impression of the show?

I am new here and have joined to hear about new ideas and, probably like the rest of you, try to forge ahead or at least stay in the hunt, during these revolutionary, recessionary times. The landscape is shifting with startling frequency, so I have fastened my seatbelt and am ready for the ride...
