I am developing an online content site (no paper edition) and am investigating outsourcers in India to handle workflow, fact checking, SEM and any other tasks that they can handle. Does anyone have experience dealing with Indian outsourcers, recommendations or advice?

Hi Don
If you are still looking for this outsourcing option to India , I think My company could be a great support in developing your website. The company I work for -Cyber Media Services, a unit of Content Matrix, is a global media services company offering content and publishing services to publishers, corporate, educational institutions, and information-based organizations. Our unique model helps our clients leverage the benefits of world-class quality at a cost advantage.
You can revert back regarding the same if you still have this option open.Im sure you'l have all the praises for our work at the end.
I've outsourced to Serbia -- after I checked India and found it was getting pricy (that was in 2006) -- and frankly the cultural differences and need for intenseive supervision meant it wasn't the big savings I expected. We wound up with one incredible employee who costs 25% of an American salary, but the headaches were not worth it. (At one time we had six people there... ) My recommendation, try to go with people from your own culture first. If it's cost savings, look into Craigs List for cheaper parts of the US and part-time people.
I agree. The early stages of any project cannot be outsourced. As a matter of fact I am leaning the other way. There is a lot of local talent available and we need to keep the opportunities here. Thanks for your thoughts!
