Magazine Launch is a good start, but is in the old php bulletin board format. Unfortunately it doesn't get a lot of traffic, and you might end up getting advice from other "noobs" in the industry. There is a LOT of good reference material though.

I agree with your comments on www.magazinelaunch.com . Most of their posts are dated and traffic seems low, however there is lots of reference material and resource links there.

I think there's a slight typo in the URL, should be www.distributionnet.us but definitely thanks for the info. Do you know if they are a network of solutions or are a distribution provider themselves? It's hard to tell from the site?

Yes, I agree, magazine launch, is good. I belong to magazinelaunch.(magazinepub). It is a good place, to realize, that you not alone, in the problems, you have in starting a magazine. Another good place, I found is Myspace. Their is a member their, who called himself ,"magazine man". It is his listing, of members, that are interesting. He has thousands, of different magazine's publisher. Most of his members are the small, under twenty thousands circulation mags. I put then in my members list.Because they are kitchen table mags, it is very easy to get to know the publishers, and talk about problems, they have and suggestions, they bring up, into publishing a magazine.
