Hi! I am a print production specialist having worked on weekly B2B publications, startups, redesigns for 22 years. I've attend press checks for weekly pubs, and a coffe table book, printed in Verona, Italy. In addition, I orchestrated editorial, art, and production staffers when converting software. I don't believe print is going away, but redefining itself and I await new opportunities. Looking forward to learning and sharing.

Hello ladies, I am a writer and a newbie to publishing. I just launched my own online magazine, Beautiful Black Lady (www.beautifulblacklady.com). I invite everyone to visit and send me feedback. I look forward to the group and the positive energy that women bring to business.

I've worked for a variety of publications over the past 27 years—from books to a wide variety of periodicals and journals. I have also owned my own graphic design company and have published several community publications. Currently, I am trying to launch a new community magazine(s) and am in the process of putting together the financing for this project. I am eager to learn from all of you and to share what I can.

Hello everybody. I am publishing in Romania a professional beauty magazine, already for 7 years, and love what I do. But times are tough and I could definitely use any of your guidance for making things better. Hope to hear from you soon.

I have worked in publishing as an Art Director/Creative Director but moved over to Marketing Design for other industries as a necessity. I worked in books and BtoB magazines. Love the field but hate the lack of jobs and miniscule salaries. Is there any good news out there in publishing? Looking forward to talking about the field.

Currently as the Distribution Manager for the only internationally distributed Caribbean Published magazine, I am pleased to be part of this community of women in publishing. After a 10 year stint at Hearst Distribution Group and Comag Marketing Group I have learnt this business is ever changing and we need to keep diversity as part of our vocabulary for survival within this industry.

Hi I have a business developing web packages and training salespeople to sell digital, print and events. I've been in publishing over 25 years, a challenge to adjust to the constant change

All responses have been good and appreciated; and yours, Douglas, is superb advice for any sort of acquisition — not just magazines. One of the hardest things for me to realize is that it's business, not a love affair. You can certainly love what...
