Take heart, Duncan. Speed and brevity have limits. Quality does not. Eventually the speed will be instant and brevity will be X amount of characters. At that point, only quality will be able to improve.

I think everyone wants to go from point A (traditional publishing business model) to point B (online $) as quickly as possible. We can hazily see point B in the future...
To me it's not a matter of print vs digital. It's a matter of content vs. hardware. Right now, hardware and software companies (and service providers) are collecting more than their fair share of revenue based on the content that we are creating.
