- David Tompkins is Director of Preflight Operations for AAAS, publisher of the weekly magazine Science. David brings over 25 years of experience in printing and publishing to AAAS. Tompkins was awarded the 2002 AAAS Innovations award and recognized as one of "Today's Most Influential People in Magazine Media" by Folio in April 2008 for his accomplishments in publishing technologies. He promotes and enforces the use of open standards in his workflows from organizations such as DDAP, IDEAlliance, DISC and various XML standards.
