I've been a professional writer for more than 30 years and a full-time freelance writer for 17 years. Before freelancing full-time, I worked in a staff writer/editor capacity on the Lake Worth (Fl) Herald, Your Health Magazine and the National Examiner. As a freelancer I've published more than 1,600 articles in an eclectic array of publications, including Military Officer, Nursing Spectrum, Cat Fancy, Penthouse Forum and Mad Magazine, and have authored, co-authored, ghosted or contributed to more than 20 books on topics ranging from an overview of World War II to the Columbia space shuttle tragedy. I am also the founder of Triangle Area Freelancers, a regional organization of working freelance writers, and I teach an ongoing class titled Freelance Writing for Beginners through the Continuing Education department at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC.
Personal Interests
I'm an avid reader and autograph collector. I also collect comic books and baseball Hall of Famers. Additional areas of interest include cheesy sci-fi movies and other areas of popular culture.
