What are you doing to inspire creativity throughout your organization? We created incentive programs (and guidance) that inspired several of our editors, publishers and salespeople to create and manage new profit centers within our company. We gen...
This subject comes up every few years, and I respond every few years, so here we go again.
More than 20 years ago, we created a front page for our tabloid b2b magazine Sports Trend that had two ad positions on it (we called them upper and lower b...
Hey Doug,
Great to see you on line. Hope all is well with you. We are having an outstanding year...in spite of the economy and the flood ravaging our World Headquarters building. It's "Business as Usual" for all our business units and we are working hard to make hay while the sun shines.
See you in NYC in Sept?
Best Regards.
Glad to hear you are well and active. The world of b-to-b M&A is pretty much where you would expect it to be. With debt tight, the Private Equity buyers are slowing down and focusing on integrating what they already have. Whitestone has a client that is a worldwide leader in a major industrial sector with magazines, conferences and an online service. The key strategics are interested and sending the right signals. I am a happy guy.
Hi Doug: So great to hear from you. I'm doing great--business is good, family is healthy and happy. We now have the first of the next generation and waiting for another. I'm in the process of creating 9 sales webinars. How are you and your family? What are you up to? Helen
Doug,
If you didn't know better, you might think I couldn't keep a job for more than five years. The nice thing about working for Primedia, Prism and Penton is that I didn't have to change my monogrammed towels at home. Tough going in publishing these days, especially for those who don't see how we've got to change our model to more fully reach the marketplace. I see too many people inside still resisting the changes. What do you see going on out there?
