Glenn D. Harris is recognized as an expert on the affluent consumer and, in particular, their decision making behaviors as it relates to travel. Harris frequently participates in panels, presentations, and is quoted in the press on matters relating to luxury travel.
Prior to establishing The Escapes Group, LTD. in 2003, Harris was the Head of Marketing and Public Relations for American Express, Latin America. In this role, Harris developed strategy and lead a team to develop and implement programs to stimulate spend on the America Express card. He worked with tourism boards, luxury goods retailers, and five start resorts and created numerous successful programs. In particular, the programs focused on the Centurion and Platinum Cardholders. In working with these clients, Harris observed a void in terms of how these consumers obtain information to make their travel decisions. Harris observed that the primary source of information was word of mouth or through a travel agent as there were no reference books on upscale travel. From this opportunity, The Escapes Group was born.
The company now produces four publications focused on the affluent consumer. Yachting Escapes - mega yacht travel reference, Limited Time - Limited Edition Watches, and the Caribbean Escapes and Indulgent Escapes luxury resort books.
Prior to his tenure with American Express, Merchant Services, Harris was the Director of Marketing for AT&T responsible for the Caribbean. Harris began his career with AT&T and over the 12 year span held various leadership roles in client services, sales, quality, and operations.
