James Kristie is the editor and associate publisher of Directors & Boards, a quarterly journal and a monthly online newsletter (the e-Briefing) of high-level leadership, governance, finance, legal, and strategic issues. He has been editor since 1981 and associate publisher since 1991.
He is a member of the CFA Institute and the national organization’s Philadelphia chapter.
He is the recipient of the Philadelphia Prize for Investment Research (1998), sponsored by the Financial Analysts Society of Philadelphia, awarded for the paper, “Timeline: The Evolution of 20th Century Corporate Governance.”
Earlier in his career he held the positions of managing editor of a weekly business magazine, editor of a communications industry trade newspaper, and associate editor of publications for a supermarket company.
He earned his BA in journalism from Temple University (1976), returning to his alma mater in 2003 as an adjunct instructor in the university’s School of Communications and Theater.
He is regularly quoted in the media as an authoritative source on leadership issues.
Directors & Boards (www.directorsandboards.com), founded in 1976, is the journal of thought leadership in the corporate governance field. Its primary readers are public-company directors, chairmen, CEOs, and other senior management and board advisers. It is owned by MLR Holdings LLC, a Philadelphia-based media investment firm.
