- I do have a strong IT background mainly focused on project management. During the last 7 years I have mainly focused on SAP IS Media SD and the related business processes in subscription management / subscription fulfillment. During that time I have done many business blueprints for different publishers and subscription fulfillment bureaus regarding their business processes in the subscription area. We are a Germany based company and we want to further grow into the international subscription fulfillment software market and so my tasks have changed to do business development for our international media business.

According to my experience these bureaus vary a lot... I´m pretty sure the software isn´t too advanced in mots of them. In my opinion both these bureaus and the in house offices don´t find the target groups as well as they should. This is actually not my expertees, but that´s my opinion. One of the biggest bureaus is Mediapex Oy, maybe You should contact them? I know their second man from the top used to work for SanomaMagazines which is the biggest magazine publishing house in Finland as You probably know (they are international). In Finland magazine publishers sell the subscriptions either from in house organizations or use commercial offices (they sell often other things too and magazines from various publishers). In A-lehdet Oy we have about 10 offices of our own around Finland, but we use outside forces, too. Finnish people like to order their magazines, for example Jade-magazine the subscribers are around 80 %, the rest we sell in shopping malls, kiosks etc. Publishing houses also send tons of letters offering magazine subscriptions plus various gifts and possibilities to win etc. Of course we would like people to subscribe via internet but that is growing slowly. That method would be the cheapest and the most effective for us. We also use e mail, but the law is very srtick and we must have a personal acceptance from the customer...
