My name is Greg Morey and I have come out of a web background by way of Radio and TV. I started a regional quarterly shelter product last year with Mario Garcia (of WSJ fame) designed by John Miller (Esquire, Vanity Fair) called FDR (Florida Designers Review) that follows Amex's Departures model (not available in retail although I am beginning to wonder). I print abroad because of our oversize specs and are developing paths to DTV and web 2.0 using existing creative assets. I would be interested to learn more about efficient distribution models in retail (is there such a thing?) and I'm always looking for more ways to find and motivate great people.
Hello, C&R groupies! I come bearing gifts of barbecue and Boulevard Beer from the fair metropolis of Kansas City. I'm the editorial director of three fledgling powerhouses -- LV Mag, which serves Leavenworth County; The Dot, which serves Wyandotte County; and Compass, an entertainment/leisure/dining guide that serves several cities including Leavenworth, KCK, Parkville and Atchison. It's been a rollercoaster ride, but, in my humble opinion, we're gaining momentum (and the almighty ad revenue!) Looking forward to hearing about your magazines, and both your challenges and successes.
Susan Ford here, publisher of Louisiana Cookin' magazine. My expertise is in clearly defined consumer markets, primarily national print titles. I joined LC early last year and moved to New Orleans- we've since launched an email newsletter and are working on our website traffic and are starting to build community there.
I work for a publisher in Florida with responsibilities for the circulation/audience development and marketing for 5 regional paid titles both in Florida and Utah. I have many years of circulation and marketing experience and am a strategist with multi-platform experience to developing audiences for our products. I am interested in topics including measurement of audience, the paid vs. controlled circulation model and web development of paid vs. free content. We are launching our new websites in November and hope to built our audience with these new sites.
