We have a Growth Strategies group going, presumably to share ideas with each other, but no one has discussed any growth strategies yet. On the assumption that someone out there is growing something, let me ask some questions:
What are you doing to grow business in existing properties?
What are you doing to grow business by creating new products?
What are you doing to grow business through acquisition?
Each of these could branch out into discussion groups of their own.
In our category we are finding a lot of well established companies with no creative direction or strong corporate ID. We're at our core a publishing company, but seeing a niche we have added some creatives to our team and are now making great additional revenue offering traditional ad agency services (web development, corporate ID, image brochures, etc).
It sounds like you have a good forward looking approach. My company brings technology into the publishing and premedia world to try to build new services that offer competitive advantages based on technology. Some of the most exciting areas for long term business development lie in the Dynamic Publishing field where the technology is finally addressing folks many core concerns.
