Head of Circulation
- Oversaw the overall controlled circulation responsibilities for BioTechniques, BioTechniques Digital Edition,
BioProcess International and BioProcess Asia-Pacific including additional products and services.
- Planned, scheduled and implemented circulation/marketing efforts to reach annual objectives.
- Work with sales representatives in providing PowerPoint presentations on our BPA demographics, products and
services for advertisers and advertiser agencies.
- Created a new channel of growth with BioTechniques Digital Edition in April 2007 by acquiring
10,000 “personal direct requestors” in the Asian-Pacific region. A monthly edition sent out via email.
- Prepared and monitored the annual circulation/marketing budget including costs of all circulation efforts,
postage, marketing vendors, fulfillment and auditing charges. Annual revenue budget for journals is $100k with
expenses of $1.8 million. Saved $42k in marketing costs the year-ending 2007 by establishing a
fixed-cost per order with vendors and using other avenues of qualifying/subscribing.
- Prepared monthly highlight report that includes activity, cost of new subscriber and/or re-qualified
subscriber and percentage of return that was distributed to the Publisher and Marketing Director.
- Responsible for preparing and filing BPA International Circulation Statements on two of the print
publications and overseeing the audits on each once a year.

Contemporary Pediatrics, Contemporary Urology, Drug Topics and Journal of
the American Association of Physician Assistants).
- Prepare annual budget for all five print publications with a combined
revenue of $1.2 million and total expenses of $830k. Provide monthly
forecasts, which include re-classes and accruals.
- Select direct mail packages for paid and renewal efforts, including business
reply cards and re-qualification cover wraps to capture demographic
purposes.
